1st Annual Mighty Meehan 5K Race/Walk
September 14th 2008. 10am.
West Dennis, MA

The Mighty Meehan 1st Annual 5K-road race/walk, Run for Research will take place on September 14th 2008 at 10 a.m. This 5K race/walk will start at West Dennis beach and will follow a scenic route around Kelly’s pond and then return to the finish line at West Dennis Beach.

All runners and walkers will have their time recorded by Spitler, who will post all times and race results on CoolRunning.com

The first male and female runners will receive a New Balance duffle bag filled with New Balance Merchandise, as well as, a gift certificate for a pair of New Balance Sneakers from the New Balance store. Runners in each designated age bracket will receive medals.

The Mighty Meehan 5K Run For Research road race is also sponsored in part by Glaceau “Smart Water”. Glaceau “Smart Water “ will provide the water at the ½ way race mark for all runners and walkers and will provide bottled water at the race finish line. Glaceau “Smart Water” will also provide bottled water at the post race ceremony and party which will be held at Clancy’s Fish ‘N Chips on Lower County Road, Dennisport immediately following the race.

The Mighty Meehan 5K Run For Research post race ceremony is sponsored by Clancy’s Fish ‘N Chips in co-operation with the East Dennis Oyster Company and Cape Rental World of Orleans. Live entertainment will be provided by local musicians and will continue throughout the day and into the evening hours. A live auction will take place during the day as well as a silent auction. Some of the items to go out for auction will include Red Sox Tickets, Patriots Tickets as well as local fishing charters. Auction items and raffle prizes have been kindly donated by Local business and residents of Cape Cod.

All runners/walkers will be admitted to the post race ceremony and party free with their race number. However, the post race event is open to all. There is a suggested donation fee of $25.00 for anyone not participating in the Mighty Meehan 5K run for Research race/walk event.

All money raised from this event will to towards the Turlough Meehan Research Foundation at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to support research to find a cure for Infant Leukemia. We look forward to seeing you on September 14th 2008 for our 1ST Annual Mighty Meehan 5K Run for Research road race/walk.
